Finally my worker’s compensation claim was awarded in my favor. In the next couple of weeks I have a bunch of appointments, which in itself it another fiasco. An inspection of my apartment is in the middle of January. Lastly, Walmart as an employer and as a store has just declined in my approval of the last year.
I haven’t written about to struggles with my worker’s compensation claim. My employer didn’t help at all either. They just made the process worse. I know – they aren’t looking out for me. They are looking our for themselves. I ended up hiring a lawyer, who wasn’t the best either. It wasn’t until December I actually got a hearing after being out of work since the last week of July. The day of the hearing I called in but the system said I had no hearing scheduled. Called the lawyer, who said to call worker’s compensation back..it was rescheduled to a later time. In the end, I was awarded back pay and future payments.
In regards to medical appointments, I started this process with a primary doctor. It wasn’t until my last appointment, started with her in July and last say her in December, she said I should have seen an orthopedic doctor at the beginning since they were more familiar with worker’s compensation.
Meanwhile, got approval for three MRI’s (right femur, knee and leg). Some company third party named OnCall called me to schedule the appointments. That was a shit show in itself. It started in November, they kept saying the office was to busy to schedule, they would on my behalf and call me back. I placed eight separate calls and got no where. I finally scheduled my own appointment to someone close to me. Come to find out the week before Christmas my primary provider ended up scheduling me for the three MRI’s right in town. The OnCall calls me today asking to schedule the three MRI’s. I wasn’t exactly with them nor polite and told them it was already done. I have an orthopedic appointment in January and someone called about some other appointment but didn’t leave a call back number????
Had my last two MRI’s done today. As I finished my appointment, I noticed I got a message from a Spark driver about my Walmart Delivery. I scheduled the delivery between 2pm and 4pm. Apparently someone tried to deliver it at 1130am, then again at 1pm. Now it’s been cancelled. Can’t get anyone at the store. Regular customer service (corporate) is not AI based and a joke. Working for Walmart is a joke. Customer satisfaction is also a joke. I had to reorder and pay $5.00 for Express since they have no time slots available for today.
Then to top everything else off, my landlord called me about an inspection coming in January. First, I usually talk to his wife (but she is on vacation, she went alone??, until after the last week of January). He wasn’t exactly respectful which caught me off guard. I know that my apartment is a mess. But I have time. I just need to make the commitment to get everything done otherwise, “it might be condemned (landlord words)”. I haven’t had issues with my landlord in the last five years EVER. So I’m bushing this off as something is going on. The last time I saw him he mentioned he doesn’t make anything off his rentals and the bank might as well take the property back. Which is true, I am the only tenant of seven(7) that pays full rent on time and in full. We’ll see how the inspection goes later in the next month.
Why do things have to be so complicated these days? No wonder why everyone is stressed out and healthcare costs are skyrocketing. Everyone seems to hand things off to this person, who hands it off to another who hands it off to another. No one gives a straight direct answer anymore sadly.
